Windshield Repair Liability Disclaimer

Effective Date: 03/01/2025

At NOCO Chip Repair, we strive to provide high-quality windshield repairs using industry-standard techniques and materials. However, due to the nature of pre-existing glass damage, windshield repairs carry inherent risks. By proceeding with a repair, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

1. Understanding the Nature of Windshield Repair

  • Your windshield is already damaged, and damaged glass can be unpredictable.
  • There may be invisible structural weaknesses that could cause cracks to spread during or after the repair process.
  • The primary goal of windshield repair is to prevent further spreading and restore the windshield’s structural integrity.
  • While we strive for the best visual results, some scarring will remain visible after the repair. On average, the appearance improves by approximately 80%.

2. Potential Risks of Windshield Repair

By agreeing to a repair, you acknowledge the following risks:

  • Glass Volatility: Due to the unstable properties of broken glass, the damaged area may develop additional cracks or extend in length during the repair process.
  • Unforeseen Damage Spreading: In rare cases, the repair process may cause the crack or chip to grow beyond the point of repair, requiring a full windshield replacement.
  • No Guarantee of Cosmetic Perfection: While we aim to improve the appearance of the damage, the repair will not make the damage completely disappear. Some visible scarring may remain.
  • Existing Contaminants: If dirt, debris, or moisture has entered the damaged area before repair, it may affect the final appearance and strength of the repair.

3. Crack Repair Specific Risks

For crack repairs, the process involves creating a controlled break to stop further spreading.

  • To stop a crack from continuing to grow, we must drill a small hole at the end of the crack and fill it with resin.
  • In rare cases, the crack may extend past the drilled hole, requiring additional drilling to control the damage.
  • Longer cracks (over a few inches) have a higher chance of continued spreading, even after a successful repair.

4. Limitation of Liability

  • NOCO Chip Repair is not liable for any additional damage that may occur to the windshield as a result of the repair process.
  • If the damage worsens during the repair and a replacement is required, NOCO Chip Repair will not be responsible for the cost of a new windshield.
  • Our liability is strictly limited to a refund of the amount paid for the attempted repair in cases where the repair is unsuccessful.
  • We do not guarantee that a repaired windshield will pass vehicle inspections, as inspection standards vary by state and jurisdiction.

5. Insurance & Customer Responsibility

  • If using insurance coverage, the customer acknowledges that most insurance providers do not cover the full cost of a crack repair.
  • Any balance not covered by insurance is the responsibility of the customer.
  • NOCO Chip Repair is not responsible for insurance claim denials or disputes regarding coverage amounts.

6. Acknowledgment & Agreement

By proceeding with the windshield repair, you acknowledge that:

✅ You have read and understood the risks involved.

✅ You accept that some scarring will remain visible after the repair.

✅ You understand that damage may spread unpredictably, and NOCO Chip Repair is not liable if the repair is unsuccessful.
